What surprises do exhibitors have in store for us next edition of Modefabriek? And what do they think about Modefabriek's relocation? This time we spoke to Otto Klein of agency Collections.
Having worked for big names in the fashion industry, Otto Klein started his own business, Collections, in 1998. The showroom has been based in Lijnden for a few years, showcasing the latest collections of Ichi, Zhrill, Sisterspoint, WithBlack, Freequent, Copenhagen Muse and Rose & Camellia.
Collections will be attending Modefabriek on 26 and 27 January 2025, showcasing the new collections of brands Ichi, Zhrill, Sisterspoint, WithBlack en Rose & Camellia. “WithBlack and Rose & Camellia are our latest brands,' says Otto Klein. “As an agency, we're in a great vibe with our brands and are achieving good sales. We focus on the affordable price segment, and we notice that retailers are looking for options in that segment.”
WithBlack: affordable sophisticated look
One of the newest additions to the Collections family is the Danish women's fashion brand WithBlack. “I wasn't actively looking for a new label,” admits Otto, “but I wholeheartedly believe in WithBlack because it is so different from our other brands. A blend of Scandinavian minimalism and luxury, sophisticated but accessible. I'm really excited to see what it offers. The brand launched its B2C business during the COVID-19 pandemic and saw significant success in both Germany and the United States. The Netherlands is now one of the first countries where they sell via wholesale. The launch at Modefabriek last summer was a huge hit. It attracted many high-quality retailers."
Rose & Camellia: luxury jewelry brand
Collections has recently added another brand to its portfolio: jewelry label Rose & Camellia. The brand has been available for purchase since March 2024. “This brand sets itself apart with its premium quality and luxurious aesthetic, despite offering a range of products priced between €15 and €39. The collection, which boasts an average of 1,000 to 1,500 styles, is refreshed six times a year to ensure it's always on-trend. As an importer, we maintain a substantial inventory, allowing us to fulfill orders quickly. The brand's luxurious aesthetic is complemented by high-quality packaging and display materials. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, using premium stainless steel and offering a one-year warranty on the plating."”
Modefabriek’s new look
Otto is excited about the move to Vijfhuizen, citing the need for a more inspiring and fashionable venue for Modefabriek. “People who were hesitant to go to the fair will hopefully be more easily convinced by the new location. We can be proud of such a platform in the Netherlands, and we should all support it.”
Going all out at the event
Collections has a prominent presence at Modefabriek, with five stands clustered together. “There's no more aisle, but there's a red thread of tables across the trade show floor. I'm really enthusiastic about that. I think the new stands are very nice. They are more open, and I think that's positive. You shouldn't overfill stands. Ultimately, your collections and team must do the work.”
