The Modefabriek Musts are our chance to keep you updated on the latest inspiring developments within the fashion community. This week, we’re serving up a Modefabriek Must that’s a little different to our usual offerings: WT Urban Kitchen in Utrecht. High-level dining, in more ways than one.
Most residents of Utrecht will have heard of WT Urban Kitchen. The restaurant in the former water tower (you guessed it, the WT in the name) is even one of Utrecht’s most Googled eateries. And it’s clear to see why: the views from WT Urban Kitchen rival the country’s best rooftop bars, and the menu keeps pace with the nation’s renowned (Michelin-starred) restaurants.
WT Urban Kitchen is on the tenth floor of the water tower. The lift whisks you from the ground to the ninth floor, and from there, stairs take you further upwards. Once you reach the top, an exquisite Utrecht panorama awaits.
But this restaurant isn’t just about a nice view (or about the more than decent wines, and delicious cocktails). Chef Menno van der Pol is in charge in the kitchen, and of the menu, which often bears shades of green. Van der Pol, who took over from chef Joost Bergsteijn in 2018, previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants De Kromme Dissel and La Provence, and was a chef at Kasteel Kerckebosch in Zeist. So you can expect nothing but the best.
This culinary experience with spectacular view is yours for €44, €49 or €54 for a 4, 5 or 6-course menu respectively. And for €6 extra per course, the sommelier is also on hand with a masterfully paired wine.
WT Urban Kitchen, Heuveloord 25A, 3523 CK Utrecht.
