In the run-up to Modefabriek, a few exhibitors share their latest news and plans for the upcoming edition on January 21 + 22 January 2024. The last brand in this series is Penn&Ink N.Y, which is launching a new sub-line at Modefabriek.
What's your big news for winter 2024-2025?
Marleen Fikkert, responsible for brand design at Penn&Ink N.Y: “We introduce our new sub-label Juicy News. A separate collection, but part of Penn&Ink N.Y. It has a sporty touch and is made of high-quality materials. Juicy News is more sporty and graphic than Penn&Ink N.Y, with items like sweatpants, hoodies and T-shirts. And most importantly, Juicy News is seasonless, you can wear it all year round regardless of the season. You can even play sports in it, as seen in the accompanying campaign. From hockey and tennis to winter sports."
The ultimate woman in 2024?
"We think it's important that women can be themselves and follow their feelings. Wear what makes you happy and what makes you feel good and comfortable. We think it's important that fashion can also be comfortable. We've been working on that for years with Penn&Ink N.Y. With Juicy News, we also respond to that and want to show that sporty clothing can also be fashion."
What are you working on in the field of sustainability?
"We don't communicate much about it, but we definitely think sustainability is very important. Juicy News is a seasonless collection that does not go on sale. The same goes for our basics. Moreover, these items are produced in Portugal, for more controllable working conditions and less pollution for transportation."
What are you going to show off at the upcoming edition of Modefabriek?
"Of course with our new sub-label, which we are presenting with beautiful photography and decoration on the stand. We also present the main collection of Penn&Ink N.Y, which still accounts for most of the collection. In this collection, we focus on casual chic and there is a bigger role for more luxurious qualities and outdoor items this season."
Who do you hope to meet there?
"Of course, in addition to our existing loyal customers, we hope to meet new relations. And certainly also international customers, because that is where there is still growth for us. Now that Premium is canceled, we expect more German customers at Modefabriek and a number of agents will also be present at our stand. Previous editions, our agents from Germany, Austria and Belgium were there to receive customers."
