Modefabriek Meets… Freebird

In the run-up to Modefabriek, a few exhibitors share their latest news and plans for the upcoming edition on 7 + 8 July 2024. This time Freebird, that’s presenting an extensive party collection for summer 2025.

What's your news for summer 2025?

Ilse de Vries, commercial director of Freebird: "We are going to significantly expand our festive collection. This line is aimed at the wedding guest, mainly the sister and friend of the bride. There is a lot on offer in this area in the 'more classic' segment, but the trendier wedding clothing is missing. Our dresses were already widely worn for weddings, but the items in the festive collection are more luxurious and outspoken, with fancy jacquards, glitter and beautiful luxurious fabrics. Last year, we started a capsule collection of 25 items, and it was a great success. The collection will triple in size for summer 2025. It is mainly dresses, our strength, supplemented by suits, jumpsuits and combinations of tops with trousers."

What are your trends for the coming season? 

"In terms of colours, we have two main themes for the festive collection: aqua green and fuchsia pink. A lot of lurex is used, but more subtly and in combination with natural materials. Silver is clearly catching up with gold. You will also see fewer prints and more textured fabrics, such as jacquard and bouclé. In the regular collection, we use many neutral colours to create a nice base with which all other collection colours can be combined. And we still see a lot of stripes, with a Freebird signature. Think of a blue and white striped crochet cardigan with lurex. Furthermore, we are bringing a very strong embroidered denim range."

What can we expect at the upcoming edition of Modefabriek? 

“The festive collection literally gets a stage on our stunning new stand. We really wanted to go all out again, because our collection deserves a stand of the same level. Our relations and propects will receive an invitation to the fair in wedding style and it will be a party with us all day long. We are going to score high with the ambience on the stand and of course with the collection."

What are you looking forward to at Modefabriek?

"Of course, we hope to see our existing customers and expect them to be at least as enthusiastic about this collection as we are. There is still room for growth, so we hope to meet potential new customers as well. Especially with the expansion of the festive collection, we see room for new points of sale. Our German agents will also be there, as we are growing in Germany."
