Mark 9 & 10 July 2023 in the agenda, because then the doors of Modefabriek in the Amsterdam RAI will be wide open again. Expect a lot and more, from trusted and fresh fashion brands and boutique labels, trend inspiration and eye-openers to new specials. The children's segment will be continued, the men's and women's areas will be rearranged and there will be plenty of focus on the further internationalisation of the event.
In recent years, the share of men’s labels has steadily decreased, so Modefabriek has decided not to bring an exclusive area for menswear. With this change, there is room for innovation and focus on internationalisation and on women's brands, brands that show both women's and men's collections, and children's brands.
INTERNATIONAL GROWTH
Modefabriek will be more international than ever. The most relevant trade fair of the Benelux has gained international attraction: this is evident from the presence of Belgian agencies and the growing group of Scandinavian and Italian fashion brands present. The percentage of foreign visitors has risen remarkably since corona - German and Belgian retailers in particular know to find their way to Modefabriek – this also has not escaped the attention of the German press. In July, Modefabriek will focus even more on this international growth with, among other things, a larger range of high-end women's labels from Scandinavia (like Second Female, Coéme, HVISK, MSCH Copenhagen) and Italy (Imperial, Please, Dixie).
THE FASHION GALLERY X MODEFABRIEK
The successful collaboration between The Fashion Gallery and Modefabriek will be continued. With its presentation of international high-end women's labels, The Fashion Gallery is the place to be inspired for the new purchasing season. We mention Alchemist, avec ēlan, Becksöndergaard, Bruuns Bazaar, Elvine, Femmes du Sud, Ibu Jewels, K&J Belgium, M.A.B.E, Mads Nørgaard - Copenhagen, Rain Couture, Sofie Schnoor and Hartford; these are just a few brand examples that will present their collections at the ongoing fashion show during Modefabriek.
DRIVE INN JUNIOR X MODEFABRIEK
The introduction of the Drive Inn Junior children's segment was so enthusiastically responded to at the winter edition 2023 that it has once again been given a place. With great success, 21 beautiful children's clothing brands were presented in the specially designed area, this time it comes back even bigger with brands such as AI&KO, AO76, Arsène et les Pipelettes, Ballin, Blue Rebel, Cos I Said So, Diesel, Guess, K-way, Petit by Sofie Schnoor, Rellix Jeans and Sofie Schnoor girls.
THE SUSTAINABLE STOP
Sustainable buyers will find their way again to the already familiar organic department The Sustainable Stop. In this area, where good design is represented in the broadest sense of the word, you will find responsible innovative brands and fresh independent labels including Kings of Indigo, A Beautiful Story, TOMO Clothing, Derbe, Elemente-Clemente, Innbamboo the Original, Intonatu, Ischiko, O My Bag, Oska, Stapf and Suite13 LAB.
DE KLOFFIE MARKT
New this edition is the collaboration with the Amsterdam vintage market De KLOFFIE Markt. De KLOFFIE Markt, known for their refined selection of designer vintage clothing, is a slow fashion initiative with the aim of reducing the amount of clothing waste and extending the life cycle of valuable garments. The platform presents their best resellers in their pop-up shopping experience at Modefabriek.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PLATFORM (YEP)
You will meet the young daredevils in fashion at the area YEP. Emerging entrepreneurs and designers present their collections, which are also for sale directly (for the store or yourself).
TRENDS, INSPIRATIE & TALKS
This edition, inspiration is high on the agenda. At the Trendforum, the biggest fashion and color trends, materials and silhouettes are visualized by VIEW Publications and Modefabriek’s creative director Caroline Krouwels. For the essential fashion knowledge, forecasting and the idea behind it, join the Talks with well-known names such as David Shah, Jan Agelink and Ronny de Vylder. This edition we also planned an interview with the founders of Banlieu, a panel talk on sustainability, Dayenne Bekker will teach the visitor everything about styling and Rubia Heyer will discuss online communication with the fashion professional. Be there!
The full program will be announced in June, the list of participating brands can already be found here.
